The key to sustainable optimisation of digital experiences

The most beautiful design in the world can turn out to be a critical failure if the user cannot find what they are looking for. That's why every digital delicacy should be tasted and, if necessary, spiced up before it is served. In usability testing, experts and test subjects from the target group take a close look at websites, apps and various prototypes and provide valuable insights for optimisation. We test in order to understand the behaviour of the target group, uncover weaknesses at an early stage and develop a product with perfect usability for you in the long term.

From thinking aloud to eye-tracking: usability testing methods for more conversion

The following also applies in the digital space: The bait has to appeal to the fish, not the angler! However, those who can prove whether the bait tastes good or not catch the most fish. We therefore carry out our user tests using scientific methods. Each test is preceded by meticulous preparation, including product analyses and strategic determination of the target group. We then create representative test scenarios in which the test subjects are confronted with products and prototypes and have to solve specific tasks.

Depending on the requirements, identified target persons, typical ordinary users or experienced usability testers test the designs. They are guided by our usability experts and recorded in various ways: In Thinking Aloud, the test person speaks their thought processes out loud and records them to make the entire test experience comprehensible. Other indispensable forms of recording are screen recordings or heat maps that document every mouse click. Eye tracking - the recording of the user's gaze - is one way of tracking even unconscious user behaviour. The subsequent analysis often provides surprising and unexpected insights into the product. From the collected data, we extract ideas and measures to improve user-friendliness - concrete steps towards an excellent overview, ease of use and a high conversion rate.
